Your Thrift Stores purchases help vulnerable and orphaned children in Africa.

The Salvation Army helps children all around the world. Our home page feature photo with a young girl and her infant sibling, are themselves, orphaned and vulnerable children. This photo was taken in February by one of our Salvation Army officers while visiting many villiages in Tanzania. The HIV AIDS pendamic in Africa is showing no signs of slowing down, and these children represent many others just like them who have lost both parents to the disease. Seeing a young girl under the age of 10 carrying and caring for her infant sibling is a common image in Africa, and without the help of people like us here in Canada, their hopes of improved health and survival is questionable at best.
